Hey,
So this was an interesting week. Starting from
Wednesday, because we had interviews with the Babins! It was only my second
interview with them. It may be different in other missions, but here we have
one-on-one interviews with both of them. Sœur Babin is actually known for being
more intimidating than her husband, so I was super nervous for her interview.
But both of them went very well. They are both doing so awesome and are a great
blessing for all of us. I couldn't imagine being a mission president over 200+
missionaries in such a big area.
On Saturday, we watched "The Cokeville
Miracle" for a ward activity. It was really good. It made me cry. So
you should see it immediately. We actually had an "ami" at the movie,
too, so he was impacted a lot as well.
We surprisingly had 2 "amis" at church
yesterday. One of them has been in a rehabilitation centre for a smoking problem, and the other struggles heavily with alcohol and drugs. It was miraculous to see
them both at church, and it's ironic because on paper they are our hardest
amis, but at the end of the day I guess they have more desire than anyone right
now.
Tonight we're finally going to teach Guillermo,
again!
Never say never!!
I've notice a lot of phrases that people say in
French, like "en fait" which means "in fact", or
"actually". But I hear it like 100 times a day and people say it in
situations when I would never say in fact or actually.
Another phrase is "c'est gentil,
merci." Which I think means "It's nice of you, thanks." I hear
that one a lot, too.
I feel like my French is improving more this
transfer and I can understand people more and more each day. And to be fair, I
think my Spanish is getting better every day, too.
I have a lot of help.
Boy, is life exciting right now in
Brussels.

P.S. I in fact did find out about Glenn Frey's death
last Wednesday. It was very sad. He was probably my favourite Eagle.

Hola,
Esta semana ha sido
interesante. Empezó con el miércoles porque tuvimos entrevistas con los Babin.
Apenas era mi segunda entrevista con ellos. No sé si sea igual en todas las
misiones, pero aquí tenemos una entrevista con el presidente Babin y una con la
hermana Babin. La hermana Babin de hecho tiene fama de ser más intimidante que
el presidente, así que estaba con muchos nervios antes de hablar con ella. Al
final, las dos entrevistas estuvieron muy bien. Los dos están haciendo una gran
labor y son una enorme bendición para todos nosotros. Me cuesta imaginar ser
presidente de misión de más de 200 misioneros en un área tan grande.
El sábado vimos la
película “The Cokeville Miracle” como actividad de barrio. La película está
bastante buena y hasta me hizo llorar. Así que sería bueno que la vean en
cuanto puedan. Para la película también estuvo presente un “ami” y al parecer a
él también le llegó mucho.
Sorpresivamente, ayer
fueron dos “amis” a la capilla. Uno de ellos ha estado en un centro de
rehabilitación debido a su adicción al tabaco, mientras que el otro tiene
serios problemas de alcoholismo y drogadicción. Fue como un milagro verlos a
los dos en la capilla, y es irónico porque, en teoría, ellos son nuestros amis
más duros, pero a fin de cuentas parece que son los que tienen más deseo que
nadie en este momento.
¡Hoy finalmente le
daremos otra lección a Guillermo!

He notado que aquí la
gente usa muchas frases en francés como “en fait” que significa “de hecho”. La
cosa es que la escucho como 100 veces al día y la gente la usa en situaciones
en las que nada que ver.
Otra frase es “c'est
gentil, merci”, que creo que significa “muy amable de su parte, gracias”. Esa
también se escucha a cada rato.
Siento como que con
este cambio estoy mejorando el francés y cada vez entiendo más lo que dice la
gente. Además, para ser justos, el español también los estoy mejorando.
Recibo mucha ayuda.
En serio que la cosa
se está poniendo buena aquí en Bruselas.
Creo que eso es todo

P.D. Pues, de
hecho, me enteré de la muerte de Glenn Frey el miércoles. Fue bien triste. Creo
que era mi favorito de The Eagles.
