Hey,
Another crazy week has gone by in the mission field. We had the ward Christmas party on Saturday with the French and Spanish speakers. In total, about two-hundred people came to the party. We got presented to a few families by some awesome members so now we have a lot of amis.
One of our new amis, who is a 30-ish aged man from the Congo who apparently likes to write poetry and other things, was at the Christmas party for only about half an hour and then left. We were at the party for about three hours total. And then left for the metro at
around 9:30. As we walked down the steps to the metro, we saw our amis from the party with a group of men drinking. We noticed he had drank a lot. He walked past us multiple times without recognising us. We were both pretty shocked and disappointed in him.
Then, we got on the metro with him. We were standing in the train and there were some guys sitting about 10 feet away from us, and one of them tries to get our attention. My
trainer starts talking to him and the guy just starts talking really loud about what we believe and how stupid he thinks it is. By the time we got to our stop, the dude was up in our chests and very animated. Luckily we were able to get off and get home safe, but it was pretty crazy.
This is why our curfew is at 9:00.
It was definitely the craziest day of my mission so far.
We've gotten a lot of referrals from members so we have a lot of work.
Exciting times here in Bruxelles.
Every day is getting better and the days go by fast.
It is not cold at all right now, which is not normal for Brussels weather, but I like it.

He
tenido otra semana emocionante en el campo misional. Tuvimos nuestra fiesta de
Navidad el sábado con los miembros que hablan francés y español. En total,
cerca de doscientas personas asistieron a la fiesta. Algunos fieles miembros
nos presentaron a ciertas familias y ahora tenemos una buena cantidad de
investigadores.
Uno
de nuestros nuevos investigadores es un hombre como de 30 años del Congo.
Parece ser que le gusta escribir poemas y otras cosas. Él estuvo en la fiesta
de Navidad solamente por media hora y después se fue. Estuvimos en la fiesta
alrededor de tres horas en total. Después nos fuimos al metro cerca de las
9:30. Al bajar las escaleras del metro, vimos al investigador que había estado
en la fiesta tomando alcohol con un grupo de hombres. Nos dimos cuenta de que
había tomado bastante. Pasamos cerca de él varias veces y no nos reconoció. Fue
muy impresionante y a la vez desilusionante.
Luego,
nos subimos al metro con él. Estábamos de pie en el tren. Unos hombres estaban
sentados como a tres metros de nosotros y uno de ellos quería captar nuestra
atención. Mi entrenador comenzó a conversar con él, pero empezó a hablar en voz
alta y a decirnos que nuestras creencias son tontas. Para cuando llegamos a nuestra parada, el
hombre estaba muy cerca de nosotros y bastante alterado. Afortunadamente
pudimos salir del tren y llegar a casa sanos y salvos, pero fue muy intenso.
Es
por eso que tenemos que estar en casa a las 9 de la noche.
Fue
con certeza el día más interesante de mi misión hasta ahora.
Hemos
recibido muchas referencias de los miembros, así que tenemos mucho trabajo.
Es
una época emocionante aquí en Bruselas.
Cada
día las cosas mejoran y los días pasan con rapidez.
No
hace mucho frío ahora, lo cual no es normal en Bruselas, pero me agrada.
