Hey everyone,
So this was a nice week. Obviously, we had transfer day
on Wednesday and I got my new comp, Elder Bishop. He's from Kaysville, UT. And
he's an awesome guy. We get along really well. It's going to be a fun 6 or 12
weeks or how long we stay together. The weather in town has gotten colder. It's
been a week since the last clear, sunny day. And from what I've been told, the
winters here can get cold. But we'll see what happens.
We had an awesome rendezvous with this African woman
that I found with Brown. Her name is Priscilla and she's from Cameroon. We
taught her and her sister the Restoration and they loved it. It was really easy
to teach them because they were already super believing. It was like we were in
Africa for a second. They told us that in Africa, people are so much more open
and warm and believing than in France. Which, is sad to think for the people
here who think they don't have a place for religion in their lives. But these
Africans understand we need God in our lives. So, voilà quoi.
We also went to the Bible study with our Evangelical
friends on Wednesday at Rudy’s house. And it was great, as always. Bishop was
so astounded by the faith and the desire of these people who come together and
do what they believe is right. It's hard for us to get them to "change
religions", but I admire their faith, quand-même. Because there ain't
a whole lot of believers here...
I really don't know what else to say. We're all in good
spirits, I hope the Niners do good this year, and I hope Mexican soccer can
wake up and do something more.

Una brisa
fresca a cambio de aire caliente

Hola a todos:
Pues esta
semana estuvo bien. Obviamente que el miércoles fue día de cambios y mi nuevo
compañero es el élder Bishop que es de Kaysville, Utah, y es un tipo a todo
dar. Nos llevamos muy bien y tendremos 6 o 12 semanas placenteras, según cuánto
tiempo pasemos juntos. Por acá el tiempo ha refrescado bastante y ya tiene como
una semana desde la última vez que tuvimos un día soleado. Según me cuentan por
aquí, en el invierno a veces hace frío. Ya veremos qué pasa…
Tuvimos una
rendezvous muy padre con una mujer africana que encontré con Brown. Se llama
Priscilla y es de Camerún. A ella y a su hermana les dimos la charla de la
Restauración y les encantó. Fue muy fácil enseñarles porque son personas muy
creyentes, y por unos momentos nos sentimos como si hubiéramos estado en
África. Ellas dicen que en África la gente es más abierta, más afectuosa y más
creyente que en Francia, lo cual da tristeza porque mucha gente de aquí cree
que no tienen espacio en su vida para la religión. Pero esta gente de África
comprende que necesitamos a Dios en nuestra vida. Así que, voilà quoi.
El miércoles
fuimos a nuestro estudio de la Biblia con nuestros amigos evangélicos en la
casa de Rudy, y como siempre estuvo muy bien. El élder Bishop se quedó helado
por la fe y el deseo que tiene esta gente de juntarse y de hacer lo que para
ellos es correcto. Nos costará muchísimo hacerlos cambiar de religión, pero
admiro la fe que tienen, quand-même, porque por acá no hay mucha gente
creyente…
No sé qué más
decirles, solo que tenemos ganas de trabajar, y espero que a los 49ers les vaya
bien este año que el fútbol mexicano despierte y se ponga las pilas.
