Hey,
This week was pretty packed.
On Monday night we were finally able to teach Guillermo again after such a long time. It's so hard for us to schedule rendezvous with him because he only has one day out of the week open from work. It was pretty miraculous and I was very happy. He is a very humble guy and he's looking for a new job, so we're hoping for the best for him because his situation is tough.
We also got to see our ami who is at his rehab centre. It turns out that he's been seeing the missionaries on and off for about four years. When we went to go see him, we weren't sure what we would say. During the visit, Elder Cisneros felt that we needed to set a baptismal date. Our ami took it very well and got very excited. He has gone through a lot of struggles with drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. Right now he is clean with drugs and alcohol, and is currently working on the cigarettes right now. We are very happy with his progress and have confidence in him.
I then went on exchanges with the Zone Leaders on Thursday. I was with Elder Empey for the whole day. We taught an ami and visited two less-actives. One of the less-actives who we visited, Paul, is a mathematician. During most of the visit he talked about formulas to find squares in squares and other geometry. I was actually pretty engaged and interested in the subject. He should teach us some more! And the exchange turned out to actually be really fun for all 4 of us. I have some pretty cool zone leaders.
On Friday we got an emergency call from Andrè. He told us it was urgent and he needed us to come over immediately. Two days before, we went over to visit him regularly and we gave him a blessing for his bad hip which doesn't let him walk. When we walked in his room on Friday, he stood up and bent his knees and showed us how his hips had healed over the previous two days. It was awesome!
We went over to a Peruvian members house on Saturday night and he brought a nonmember friend over, Julio. The member, Marco, made us a delicious potato chicken vegetable soup. It was super fun and we all had a great time.
Yesterday, Sunday, was Ward Conference. The entire stake presidency and other stake auxiliary leaders came and adressed the ward and we had a ton of people at church and we all ate sandwiches afterwards. It was the best Sunday of my mission so far. I just can't express how awesome this ward is, how much they care about us missionaries, about me, and how much I care about them in return because they've given me so much. They are a huge blessing for me. I love it here.

Hola,
Esta semana estuvo
bastante ajetreada.
El lunes en la noche
finalmente pudimos enseñarle a Guillermo nuevamente después de mucho tiempo.
Nos cuesta mucho programar rendezvous
con él debido a que solo tiene un día libre a la semana. Fue una cosa milagrosa
y yo me sentí muy contento. Él es un tipo bien humilde y está buscando otro
empleo, así que esperamos que tenga suerte porque su situación está difícil.
También pudimos ver a
nuestro ami que está en un centro de rehabilitación. Nos enteramos de que a él
lo han visitado los misioneros por aquí y por allá durante cuatro años. Cuando
lo fuimos a ver no sabíamos exactamente qué le íbamos a decir, pero durante la
conversación el élder Cisneros tuvo la impresión de que teníamos que fijar una
fecha para su bautismo. A nuestro investigador le pareció buena idea y se
entusiasmó. Él ha pasado por muchos problemas con las drogas, el alcohol y el
cigarro, por ahora se ha abstenido de consumir drogas y alcohol, y está
haciendo el esfuerzo por dejar de fumar. Estamos contentos con su progreso y
tenemos confianza en él.
El jueves salí en
intercambios con los líderes de zona. A mí me tocó andar con el élder Empey
todo el día. Le enseñamos a un ami y
visitamos a dos miembros menos activos. Uno de ellos se llama Paul y es
matemático. La mayor parte del rato se la pasó hablando de fórmulas matemáticas
y otros conceptos de geometría. De hecho el tema me despertó la atención y me
interesó muchísimo. ¡Creo que debería enseñarnos más! El intercambio resultó
ser muy divertido para los cuatro misioneros. Mis líderes de zona son muy buena
onda.
El viernes recibimos
una llamada de Andrè. Nos dijo que era urgente y que tenía que vernos
inmediatamente. Dos días antes, habíamos ido a visitarlo y le dimos una
bendición porque tiene un problema en la cadera que le impide caminar.
Entonces, cuando entramos a su cuarto el viernes, se levantó y dobló las
rodillas y nos mostró la forma en que la cadera se le había compuesto después
de la bendición. ¡Fue padrísimo!
El sábado en la noche
fuimos a la casa de un hermano peruano y él invitó a un amigo que no es miembro
y que se llama Julio. El hermano se llama Marco y nos hizo una deliciosa sopa
de pollo con papas y verduras. Fue un rato muy ameno y todos lo pasamos muy
bien.
Ayer domingo tuvimos
conferencia de barrio. Toda la presidencia de la estaca estuvo ahí, así como
otros líderes de las organizaciones auxiliares de la estaca. Ellos se
encargaron de los discursos, hubo muchísima gente en la capilla y después
comimos sandwiches. Ha sido el mejor domingo que he pasado en la misión hasta
ahora. Simplemente no puedo expresar lo buenísima onda que es el barrio, lo
mucho que nos quieren a los misioneros, lo mucho que me quieren a mí, y yo a
cambio también quiero a todo mundo porque me han dado mucho. Todos son una gran
bendición para mí. Me encanta estar aquí.
