Bonjour a tous,
This week went pretty well,
We had our exchange with the Belfort elders here in Mulhouse on
Tuesday. Elders Lau and Ranger, respectively. It went very well. We were
able to talk to a lot of people and schedule a rendezvous out of the
efforts of 2 equipes. That evening, we went to a Brazilian family's
apartment in the ward. I got to practice my Portugese with the mom,
which was awesome. I'm still working on it because I've noticed there
are a ton of Portugese speaking people in this part of Europe. It was a
pretty fun day.
Then the next day we did gardening for a neighbor of a member who
saw us doing service for them and told his neighbor he would like us to
do service for him. So we did some work for him for a couple of hours and
at the end he was so pleased that he tried to give us money. We wouldn't
accept it but then yesterday his neighbor came up to us at church
telling us he gave him the money to give to us, which was pretty funny.
That night we had a mangezvous with the Kimbergt's of the ward. It was
SO good! She made an Alsatian pasta with some really good meat which
just absolutely made my week. And then she made us an even more
delicious creme en glaze cake dessert. It was amazing.
We went to Belfort's finding day on Thursday. Which for this
transfer is only twice for our district and is focused on "working
with members to find better"-Pres. Babin. We were only able to work
with 3 members, but it was still a lot of fun and the members enjoyed
working with us. Our finding day is this Friday.
We taught our Nigerian ami again, he is the one with a smoking
problem. He told us he had a very powerful spiritual experience with the
Book of Mormon. He said he knows it's true and knows the church is
true and that God has a path for him. We gave him the Addiction Recovery
booklet and he's diving right into it. We're going to continue to pray a
lot for him so that he can conquer his addiction.
It was hard to see any other Amis because they all cancelled on us.
But we'll try again this week. And we'll push for a baptismal date for our Nigerian ami,
too.
It's been pretty cold the last few days. I can't wait until it
gets a lot hotter. As the weeks go by, the time just goes by faster and
faster, and the work gets funner and funner. It's now actually becoming
fulfilling to do the work, which is awesome.
Mom I got the package on Friday and finished all the Cheetos in two days. Thanks so much. The printed out reports of Brussels were pretty cool. Also, if you're not aware, Elder & Sister Norby are back home in Utah. Elder Norby has woken up and can talk. If you find them, tell them I love them and miss them a lot.

Bonjour
a tous,
Esta
semana nos fue bastante bien:
El
martes tuvimos un intercambio aquí en Mulhouse con los élderes de Belfort, los
élderes Lau y Ranger, respectivamente, y nos fue muy bien. Pudimos hablar con
mucha gente y programamos una rendezvous a raíz del esfuerzo de los dos
equipes. Esa misma tarde, fuimos al departamento de una familia brasileña que
asiste al barrio. Así que pude practicar el portugués con la hermana, lo cual
fue buenísima onda. Tengo que seguir aprendiendo, porque me he percatado de que
en esta parte de Europa hay un montón de gente que habla portugués. La cosa fue
que el día fue muy divertido.
Entonces
al día siguiente la hicimos de jardineros para el vecino del miembro aquel al
que le hicimos un servicio el otro día, y, como el vecino se dio cuenta, le
dijo al hermano que si podíamos ayudarle con su jardín también. Así que fuimos
y le ayudamos por unas horitas y cuando terminamos quedó tan satisfecho que nos
quería pagar. Obviamente que no le aceptamos el dinero, pero ayer el hermano
que es su vecino llegó a la Iglesia con el dinero para dárnoslo; así que fue
muy chistoso. Esa noche tuvimos una
mangezvous con la familia Kimbergt que asiste al barrio, ¡y la comida estuvo
increíble! Hizo una pasta alsaciana con una carne que estaba buenísima y
simplemente me alegró toda la semana. Además hizo un pastel creme en glaze que
estaba aún más delicioso; todo estuvo genial.
El
martes fue día de buscar investigadores y fuimos a Belfort. En el distrito solo
se hará dos veces durante este cambio y nos centramos en el principio de
“trabajar con los miembros para encontrar investigadores”, como nos ha
instruido el presidente Babin. Al final, solo pudimos trabajar con tres
miembros, pero aún fue divertido y a los miembros les gustó trabajar con
nosotros. Nuestro día de buscar gente será este viernes.
También
pudimos juntarnos con nuestro ami nigeriano que está tratando de dejar de
fumar. Nos contó que tuvo una experiencia espiritual muy fuerte con el Libro de
Mormón, dice que sabe que es verdadero, que la Iglesia es verdadera y que Dios
tiene una plan para él. Le entregamos el folleto que ayuda a recuperarse de las
adicciones y al parecer se lo está devorando; así que seguiremos orando por él
a fin de que pueda superar su vicio.
Por
lo demás, no pudimos ver a los demás amis porque todos cancelaron sus citas,
pero esta semana lo volveremos a intentar y vamos a tratar de fijar una fecha
para el bautismo del ami nigeriano.
Últimamente
ha hecho bastante frío y me muero porque el tiempo caliente más. Conforme pasan
las semanas, el tiempo parece transcurrir más y más rápido, pero la obra se
pone también más y más divertida. De hecho cada vez es más gratificante hacer
la obra, lo cual está muy bien.
Mamá: El viernes recibí el paquete y los Cheetos me los acabé en dos días. Muchas gracias. Fue buena onda leer los artículos que me mandaron sobre lo de Bruselas. Por cierto, por si no lo saben, el élder y la hermana Norby ya están en Utah. El élder Norby despertó del coma inducido y ya habla. Si los llegaran a ver, díganles que los quiero y que los extraño mucho.
