Hey guys,
Wasn't that such an awesome General
Conference we just had? The spirit is always so strong... it's was so spiritually refreshing. The
General Authorities really know how to motivate. Elder Holland's talk on
home-teaching was great especially for this area of the world. Because over
here, no one really does their home teaching and a lot of people go less-active
because they don't feel integrated in the ward. Home teaching is really
important because of that.
I
really admired how simple all the talks were and everyone testified that this
is a gospel of happiness. To me that's the whole deal right there.
When Elder Kearon came to speak to the mission in January he told us to look on
the bright side, "You're serving in Paris! Do you know how many people
would switch lives with you right now?? Paris, France!!" Which we should
always appreciate where we are, even if we don't have much apparent
"success". The mission gets hard when we slow down and focus on
ourselves, but it's easy when we work and focus on others. It's so simple...
We had an ami come to watch Conference! Her
name is Matilde, and really young and believing. She really enjoyed it and was
really curious and asked us a lot of questions. We also taught her some of the
Restoration. She promised to start reading the Book of Mormon!
This past week, too we went to Paris for my
second-year legality. So here are some pictures. Man, I really hope I serve
there.
How is it October already? It feels like we
just started September. Goodness!

Hola amigos:
¿A poco no estuvo padrísima
la conferencia general? El Espíritu siempre se siente con mucha fuerza y
como que una siente una renovación espiritual. En serio que las autoridades
generales saben motivar. El discurso del élder Holland sobre la orientación familiar
estuvo muy bueno, sobre todo para esta región del mundo, ya que aquí nadie hace
sus visitas y mucha gente se inactiva porque nunca llega a sentirse parte de un
barrio. En serio que es una razón por la cual la orientación familiar es tan
importante.
Me admira ver también la
sencillez del mensaje de los discursos y que todos los discursantes testifican que
éste es un Evangelio de felicidad. Para mí, de eso se trata todo esto.
Cuando el élder Kearon vino a hablarnos en enero nos dijo que viéramos el lado
amable de las cosas, nos dijo: “¡Ustedes están sirviendo en París! ¿Saben a
cuánta gente le gustaría estar en los zapatos de ustedes en este momento?
¡París, Francia!”. Pues sí, siempre debemos saber apreciar el lugar donde
estamos, a pesar de que aparentemente no tenemos mucho “éxito”. La misión se
pone difícil si aflojamos el paso y solo nos preocupamos por nosotros, pero las
cosas se facilitan si trabajamos y nos preocupamos por los demás. Es así de
simple…
¡Una ami vino a ver la
conferencia! Se llama Matilde, es muy joven y es una persona de mucha fe. Le
gustó mucho, mostró mucho interés y nos hizo un montón de preguntas. También le
hablamos un poco de la Restauración y prometió que empezaría a leer el Libro de
Mormón.
La semana pasada fuimos a París
a hacer el trámite de mi segundo año de permanencia legal en el país. Por aquí
mando una fotos. Ojalá que pueda servir un tiempo en París.
No puede ser que ya sea
octubre, si septiembre acababa de empezar, ¡Válgame!
No tengo mucho más que
contar, así que pasen una buena semana.
