You
may have heard on the news that we had a terrorist attack here in Brussels. Two
bombs went off in the Brussels Airport and one in a metro. Around 35 people
died. Elder Norby, our Zone Leaders and roommates Elders Wells and Empey and
Sœur Clain were all in the airport when the bombs went off. In fact they
weren't just in the airport, they were 15 meters from the bomb with nothing in
between them and the bomb. The bomb went off and our Elders got burned and
Elder Wells lost a piece of his Achilles' tendon. He ran immediately to get
outside of the airport and when he got outside, he collapsed. His companion,
Elder Empey found him and gave him a blessing. Elder Empey also found Elder
Norby and gave him a blessing. They all got transported to hospitals, and on
the way to the hospital, Elder Wells heard a voice telling him he was going to
be ok. It was a miracle. All of our missionaries survived. They're all going to live.
Me and Elder Cisneros are fine. We've been in the apartment since Tuesday. Members have been coming by everyday giving us food, so we have enough to eat for the moment. I'm just sending this to you guys now to let you that we're fine. Our neighbor upstairs gave us his WIFI password so now we have access and I'm able to send this to you. Tomorrow I'll get transfer news and find out if I'm staying in Brussels. Regardless, I still love this city and we'll take a lot of precautions and stay safe.

Me imagino que ya escucharon en las noticias que hubo
un ataque terrorista aquí en Bruselas. Resulta que estallaron dos bombas en el
aeropuerto y otra en el metro, y murieron como 35 personas. En el momento en
que las bombas estallaron en el aeropuerto, ahí se encontraban el élder Norby,
los élderes Wells y Empey, que son nuestros líderes de zona y compañeros de
departamento, y la Sœur Clain. La cosa es que no solo estaban en el aeropuerto,
sino que la bomba estalló a unos 15 metros de distancia de ellos, sin que
hubiera objetos entre ellos y el artefacto. A nuestros élderes les impactó y de
hecho al élder Wells se le arrancó un pedazo del tendón de Aquiles. Él empezó a
correr inmediatamente hacia afuera del aeropuerto y al salir se desmayó,
entonces su compañero, el élder Empey lo halló tirado y ahí mismo le dio una
bendición. Luego también encontró al élder Norby y también le dio una
bendición. Después se llevaron a los tres al hospital y el élder Wells dice que
de camino al hospital escuchó una voz que le dijo que iba a estar bien. Fue un
milagro que todos hayan sobrevivido y se encuentren fuera de peligro.
El
élder Cisneros y yo nos encontramos bien. Desde el martes hemos estado en el
departamento sin salir. Los
miembros nos han estado trayendo comida y por ahora tenemos suficiente. Les
envío este mensaje para que sepan que estamos bien. El vecino de arriba nos
pasó su contraseña de la red wifi para que tuviéramos acceso a internet y por
eso pude escribirles desde aquí. Mañana
nos van a avisar de los cambios y vamos a ver si me voy a quedar en Bruselas. A
pesar de todo, siento un gran amor por esta ciudad y vamos a tomar nuestras
precauciones para estar seguros.
